While World War II rages, British women risk their lives as undercover agents in occupied France. A team in the French Alps is given a critically important assignment: to help stage an uprising that will divert German resources from the D-Day landings in Normandy. Now heading the team's London office, Faith Ashley (Jane Asher, A Voyage Round My Father) recruits two new agents to work in Le Crest, a Resistance stronghold on a mountainous plateau. One, Virginia (Catherine Schell, The Return of the Pink Panther), will come face-to-face with her past.
Based on actual events in Vassieux-en-Vercors, a town in France famed for its acts of resistance during the German occupation, the third series of this gripping wartime drama features strong female characters, historical authenticity, and spectacular scenery. The suspense builds toward an emotional, action-packed finale. Also starring Jane Snowden (All Passion Spent), Kate Buffery (Trial and Retribution), Terrence Hardiman (Cadfael) as General Stuckler, and Michael J. Jackson (Doctors) as Resistance leader Kit Vanston. 8 episodes, 2 DVDs, approx. 414 minutes, SDH.

Kit returns from London with the team's assignment: an uprising against the Germans, with full military support. Luc suspects Nicole of being an informer, and Virginia is stunned to see her husband, Philippe, with General Stuckler.
Faith threatens to resign when she learns that the fighters in Le Crest won't get the support they need. Emily makes a deadly mistake, and Virginia slips away to meet with Philippe.
The massacre is swift and deadly, and Father Martin is horrified to learn its cause. As the uprising grows, the BBC announces that the Allies have landed in France. Emily discovers the truth about Nicole.
Stuckler brutally interrogates a prisoner, and Kit makes a gruesome discovery after returning to Le Crest. Meanwhile, Nicole's fate is decided. Faith calls in a favor from an American friend, but the results are disappointing.
Philippe is held by the Resistance but refuses to name his contact. When Lewis accuses Virginia, she admits her ties to Philippe. As the Germans plan to attack the Resistance, Emily's pleas for RAF support are denied.
Lewis and Kit are captured, and Emily escapes with an injured Luc. Stuckler questions Lewis and Kit with Philippe by his side. Faith sends Liz Grainger to Le Crest with orders to tell the British to leave.
Le Crest is under attack, and Resistance members flee. Some are saved, but others make the ultimate sacrifice. Liz bargains with Stuckler for Kit's life. In London, Faith is congratulated on her success.
