Disc 1
Natural Justice
Freshly transferred to his hometown from Dublin, Garda Sergeant Jack Driscoll probes the carbon monoxide poisoning of a young immigrant woman. The investigation threatens to expose dirty secrets kept by a few well-respected local men—including, perhaps, his father.

Disc 2
The Stolen Child
After toddler Conal Burke disappears, his mother accuses her estranged husband of snatching him. Driscoll desperately tries to locate the boy and his father before Conal’s two violent uncles get involved. Meanwhile, a tribunal investigates past police misconduct by Jack’s father.

Disc 3
The Drowning Man
Driscoll heroically pulls 17-year-old Daniel O’Malley out of the bay—too late to save him. The mystery surrounding the teenager’s death deepens when Driscoll learns that his old flame has been "vacationing" at a cottage overlooking the exact spot where Daniel drowned.

Glad I ordered it.

An Iron Touch of Ireland
By Minus2 from CA on 10/15/2013

The series is beautifully filmed and gritty in its portrayal of one small area of Ireland and the sometimes tortuous lives of its inhabitants. My one regret, and why I didn't give it five stars is the outcome of the first in the series, 'Natural Justice.' Not to give away the plot--in my opinion the ending was not in keeping with the character who, in this instance, appears to have a singular lack of the integrity so broadly touted and a deep concern with himself, although we are supposed to believe he is making his decision altruistically--he could have shared his information and shock with the other interested party, allowing her a decision in something that was her right to know. This, of course, is the writer's fault, with probable help from the director. The acting is flawless. I do recommend this series.

Well written and extremely well acted. I hope there will be more sets.

Good series
By Anne from CO on 8/26/2014

I bought it because of the super sale on Acorn. I wasn't sure after episode 1 but I kept going and became hooked on episode 2. Can't wait to start Set 2 today.

I thoroughly enjoyed both Single Handed Seires One and Two. I await the next availability of the Third season

Loved Single-Handed set 1
By Mary from NM on 7/12/2012

We , my husband and I, bought this and have been watching it on Saturday nights because our PBS channel has not been doing a good job with the Brit coms we're so used to on Saturday night. So each Saturday night we entertain ourselves with an episode of Single-Handed. Love it.

After streaming several times, decided to buy. This series was such a pleasant experience - excellent cast, gorgeous locations and photography. And Stephen Rea appears in the second set, which I hope to buy and share with friends.

I liked this series and I wish there were a lot more. Bring it back or create a new series. I wish there would be a series like this set in Sonoma County California. But that I guess is too much to wish for in TV America.

Single Handed
By Richard from MA on 8/28/2012

The story line and acting are very good. My big dislike was the language. I think you should have a mature rating notice as you do with other DVDs. I would not buy this again, and, will be careful on future purchases of subjects I am not familiar with

By Marian from AB on 10/1/2014

Great show. Tense, very involved plots. Subplots, police politics and family dynamics all interwoven masterfully. Beautiful Irish scenery to round out the package. I hope they make more episodes.

By Mina from SC on 4/24/2014

I had seen this series already and very much wanted to own it. It is one of the best I've seen in quite a while. Wish there were more than 2 sets available.

By Veronica from CA on 12/28/2013

I bought this dvd because it seemed to have compelling story lines, excellent acting, real-world issues, and great scenery. After viewing the dvd, I was not disappointed.

Single-Handed, Set 1
By JayGee from AK on 9/8/2014

Incredible photography, the sky especially is striking. The story is more complex as you go along, dragging you into it. Dark, but interesting. It forced me to buy set 2 without even thinking about it.

By Shopper on 3/24/2014

We did not particularly like this series. Did't care for the lack of continuity.

I really liked this dvd. I only watched the first one, but am anxious to watch the other two. The scenery was beautiful. I liked the main character. A good man in amongst the crooked and resigned. I definitely will buy the 2nd season.

Bought this for my husband who is of recent Irish descent. Glad that I did, as he, and I, enjoyed it very much. Good perspective of the Irish character and way of things. A nice change from some of the extremely violent shows on US television!
