It's the five year anniversary of the store's opening. Faces old and new make an appearance, and though business is booming for Harry Selfridge, his personal life looks set to sail less smoothly.

With the rumblings of war and social unrest unsettling his staff, and the country at large, Harry throws a tango party to thank his employees for their work.

Agnes pulls off a spectacular Empire Celebration in the store but the mood is soured by big news: England has declared war on Germany.

As news emerges of the first horrors of the war in Belgium, Selfridge's men clamor to sign up while Thackeray becomes suspicious of Henri, who is behaving oddly.
