Episode 2: Nathan, Part 2
Jess and her partner, Detective Sergeant Justin Harding, search for a girl who may have been held captive with Nathan. Jess attempts to get more testimony from Nathan, but his father proves uncooperative.

Episode 3: Body of Water, Part 1
Suspecting that the crash may have been deliberately caused, Jess tries to obtain more forensic information about the van. A man approaches Jess demanding she help find his daughter, Chelsea, who has been missing for three weeks, after joining a group for backpackers.

The body of a young woman is found washed up by the bay, but it's not clear if she is Chelsea. Jess confronts her daughter, Ruby, about her pregnancy.

When an ex-cop friend, Doug, calls Jess asking for help in the middle of the night, she walks in on a crime scene: Doug has shot and killed Hoani, a local M?ori man, during a break-in. As Jess investigates, her dreams and hallucinations worsen while she goes through morphine withdrawal.

As tensions rise between the police and the M?ori community, Jess delves deeper into the drug trade on the island. Jess reveals to Ruby what she is starting to remember about the crash.
