Overview
Paddy Meehan is a feisty young Glasgow journalist looking for a break. Episode 1
Paddy has a personal connection in the case of a missing two-year-old. As the story develops, Paddy believes it could provide a much-needed break in her quest to advance from copy boy to reporter, but her family has closed ranks against the paper-and her.
Episode 2
Paddy continues to investigate even after the case has taken a dangerous turn. Convinced of the accused's innocence, she is getting little support from her colleagues, her family, or her fiance. When Paddy uncovers a link to a past child murder, she soon realizes the risks involved with exposing the truth.

Recently promoted to junior reporter, Paddy and McVie investigate a domestic disturbance call. When a lawyer turns up dead, Paddy starts to dig deeper, but the arrival of terrifying new editor-in-chief has shaken up the newsroom.

As the miner's strike drags on, Paddy continues investigating the lawyer's murder. The victim's sister sends Paddy some sensitive information and the brassscramble to kill the story.
